NAF Panels from States Industries
Elemental is your mark of assurance that specified panels from States Industries meet LEED criteria contributing to EQ Credit 4.4 for Low Emitting Materials, commonly referred to as NAF or no-added-formaldehyde. Additionally, Elemental panels are Phase 1 CARB compliant, and along with all other States Industries panels meet KCMA's Environmental Stewardship Program standards. Constructions available include Veneer Core, Particleboard Core and Medium Density Fiberboard as well as States' proprietary ApplePly ® and ArmorCore ® substrates.
All panels carrying the Elemental brand are laminated with no-added-formaldehyde resins. Composite substrates such as MDF and Particleboard included in Elemental panels are typically bonded with non- urea -formaldehyde resins such as pMDI, (poly-diphenylmethane diisocyanate) or PF, (phenol-formaldehyde) which are recognized as acceptable by the US Green Building's LEED criteria. Many new composite panel NAF & NAUF substrates are coming into the market and States continues to look for the best available options.

In addition to contributing to LEED EQ Credit 4.4, most Elemental panel constructions are available in FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified formats which contribute to LEED MR Credit 7 for Certified Wood. Panels carrying the FSC logo are constructed from wood that has been third party certified to originate from sustainable forests.
